A Formula to Keep the "Boring" out of Salad
Salads should be a daily item in your diet. In addition to the huge health benefits of dark, leafy greens and fresh colorful veggies, what's great about them is that when you assemble one the night before and keep it in your fridge overnight- they don't have to be heated or chilled to be enjoyed when you have the salad at lunch. So if you're not already, get in the habit of packing your salad before you go to bed. You can do this in a glass jar, or storage containers. Keep in mind that if something might wilt your lettuce (like dressing), it needs to be stored in a smaller container and poured on top of the salad when you're ready to eat it. We'll cover this more in a future episode. THIS episode provides you the simple building blocks you need to make a yummy and unique salad every time. A green salad everyday doesn't have to mean the same exact thing every day. Use the formula and your own unique flair and tastes and you'll create some yummy combos.
Follow this simple formula:
Veggie +Fruit +Nuts/Seeds + Protein = Non-boring Salad
Suggestions:
Veggies: Dark Leafy Greens, such as arugula, spinach, spring mixes, bok choy, chard, etc. Switch them up, and use organic blends when you find them. We love and recommend the brand Organic Girl (@organicgirl @iloveorganicgirl ).
Fruits: Avacados, Strawberries, Apples, Cuties® (@Cuties, @CutiesCitrisOfficial).
Nuts/Seeds: Pine nuts, Walnuts, Pecans, sliced or blanched Almonds, Hemp seeds, Pumpkin seeds.
Protein: Tuna, Chicken, Goat cheese crumbles, Bleu cheese crumbles, Hard aged cheeses, Shredded cheeses (just watch portion sizes).

Greens = Currency
Hey Girls!
Wanna know how you can boost your beauty, health, and emotions?
While we're on the subject of healthy eating on the go- and especially in reference to our previous two videos about salads- we want to provide some practical 411.
This episode piggy backs on our previous podcast episode and we feel that between these two episodes, you’ll have the foundation you need for lifelong health- if you implement them, of course!
In our previous podcast, I gave you heads up that we would be talking about green stuff. Wanna guess? And no, we’re not talking about money today. However, we do you plan on having a nice lineup of episodes about money- so make sure you subscribe to this podcast so you don’t miss out!
In this episode, we talk about being rich with your health. The best currency you can feed your body to make it as healthy and beautiful as possible and to eat as many greens as possible.
So what do I mean by greens? I’m talkin' romaine and bitter lettuces, kale, watercress, escarole, endive, broccoli, greens like: collard, mustard carrot and turnip, spinach, arugula, cabbage, green onions and garlic, bok choy, sprouts, baby greens and micro greens, Napa cabbage and Chinese cabbage, Swiss chard, asparagus, celery, chives, artichokes, okra, leeks, fennel, zucchini, cucumber and green bell peppers when their peeled and seeded, and herbs like basil, mint, cilantro and parsley.
And don’t forget that lovely fruit, avocado.
The Most beneficial greens are the leafy -ones and the darker the better. And you can eat them raw, cooked, juiced, powdered, and in your favorite smoothie or homemade açaí bowl. There are even brands out there that are adding veggies to their ice cream and mac & cheese. The beauty, health and emotional benefits you get from greens should encourage and challenge you to get creative with those greens and get them into your diet as much as possible.

Gut Level Health - A Foundation for Health
When our gut is out of whack, our overall health suffers. It manifests in several ways. Who knew that fiber would be such a healing agent for the gut? Get your fiber from healthy green leafy veggies and beans or legumes. Beans and legumes are best prepared and safest for our gut when cooked in a pressure cooker like an Instant Pot. So use that Instant Pot to cook chick peas and make your own hummus.
Grab and Go Meals For a Healthy, On The Go Lifestyle - How To Make Hummus
We know that being healthy is hard work. You have to make time to exercise, plan meals, buy and prepare healthy meals at home, get plenty of sleep and manage stress. Our healthy grab and go meal ideas will help you do just that. We believe food is medicine, in our first in a series, we teach you how to make hummus in minutes and with your own creative flair.
Hummus is a wonderful high-protein, high-fiber dish that is great for grab and go lunches. Especially because it doesn’t not have to be heated to taste yummy. Hummus is sold in the refrigerated section in stores, so it is most frequently enjoyed cold. However, it’s also delicious warmed up. We love this easy, healthy and quick option for an on-the-go lifestyle.
Here’s the recipe we used in the video:
Place the following into a food processor:
1 can chickpeas
juice of 1/2 lemon
1 clove chiopped garlic
3 TBSP tahini
3 TBSP olive oil (you can add more if you prefer a creamier hummus)
Add fun things like chiles and spinach, along with salt pepper and herbs and spices you enjoy - to taste.
Blend. Stop processor and unlock the top, scrape sides of processor with a spatula. Blend until desired texture.
